Musical Band Festival

Rassegna Bande Musicali
Montone boasts one of the longest-running musical band associations in Italy, which also happened to be one of the first to establish a band music festival in Umbria.
In 1850, a group of enthusiastic villagers founded the “Banda Musicale Montonese” (“Montonese Musical Band”). At the time, it was simply a group of young people who were passionate about music and participated in village festivals throughout the area, thanks to the work of Maestro Celso Pasqui who conducted the band until 1912. Since then, the band performed non-stop right up until 2020 when rehearsals and concerts were abruptly interrupted due to circumstances beyond its control. Today, the Filarmonica Braccio Fortebraccio comprises a group of about thirty members of different generations, most of whom reside in Montone.
The festival will celebrate its 40th year anniversary in 2025, and is a true testament to quality, perseverance and consistency as well as artistic and cultural vision.
