The Umbrian painter, Angelo Elladio Migliorati, attended courses at the Academy of Fine Arts in Perugia, under the guidance of F. Moretti between 1884 and 1887, before going on to improve his skills with D. Bruschi. Migliorati’s few known works trace his evolution from conventional academic styles to a freedom of expression, supported by a brilliant use of light and colour (Self-portrait, 1895; Bridge over the Carpine near Perugia, c. 1915, both in Perugia, Academy of Fine Arts).
In the early years of the century, he moved to Rome, where he introduced his two sons, Adalberto and Viero, to art. (Matteucci Institute)
